From ballet to hip hop, from court dance to trance, from Kathak to cyberdance, contemporary to ballroom - the Society for Dance Research (SDR) offers stimulating events and publications covering a broad range of dance forms and dance related issues.
The society has been working since 1982 to promote and foster the quality and scope of dance scholarship and provide a forum for the diverse dance interests in the UK. Its aims are to advance education and research into all forms of dance, to encourage the preservation of important source material and to engage in discussion, meetings and other activities that support research into dance.
The SDR's journal Dance Research is published twice yearly, for more information, click here.

Why not join the TIG/SDR Listserve (Theatre Information Group/Society for Dance Research) to receive email notifications of items of interest to SDR members? This email list facilitates discussion and information exchange among those working in performing arts collections and research, emphasising their preservation, documentation and use, and exploring ways of raising the profile of these resources and studies.
